Hey guys. I just wanted to let you know about the Katie O'Brien Scholarship Fund. Katie was a fic writer on one of the sites that I get my fics from. She also was fighting leukemia. In March of this year she lost her battle, but not before making an impression on the lives of many. Even when she was in the hospital, she continued to write with her father's help. The scholarship fund that is being created in her name is for other writers and artists out there. The wristbands are actually very cute (the one I got is a light purple) and cost $6.15 with shipping and handling. The banner below is linked to the order form and information on Katie and the scholarship fund.

Aww. =( That's really sad, but also really cool. She must've been a good writer.
When my mom gets home, I'll buy one. (I need her credit card!)
Thanks for posting this, Miki. *Hugs.* =)

I'm reading the fic that her and her dad were writing and am going to review it when I'm done. It looks very good so far. It's hard to think that she was only 14.
You had a baby, Alexia? Where was I when this happened? Boy or girl?

If memory serves, it's 43 chapters. I've read longer though. I'm in the middle of one right now that's over 65 chapters, and it's in the middle of Christmas break. It's really good, and I'd review it for the site, but it's NC-17. I've asked the author if she has an edited down version somewhere.

I'm planning on selling Livestrong bracelets next year. I just saw a documentary on Lance Armstrong. Damn... You never know how lucky you are until you hear a story like that.
I'd like to collect those bracelets. The real ones. Not the wanna-be "This is just for our profits, not for anyone's benifit" type of bracelets. Livestrong, brest cancer awareness, aids, the Katie O'Brien one, books for the poor, etc, etc. I don't care that I don't wear bracelets. Maybe I'll hook them all onto a really big keyring.

I had a LiveSTRONG bracelet for like.. 5 months and then it started to break so I stapled it and then the staple ripped off a chunk of the bracelet so it said "LieSTRONG". I should go buy a new one.. Hrrrm.

I like the one I got.. I've been in dance classes for like 10+ years so I got a pink one that says Dance on it with 2 stars around the word.. The director of the studio I dance at/with has an obsession with stars lol, so it fits perfectly. It glows in the dark, which I can't stand, but oh well.

I used to have glow in the dark feet on my wall. They started on my ceiling above my bed and went across the ceiling to the wall, then down the wall to my bed. It looked like the feet were going under my bed. Above my bed, where the feet started I had glow in the dark stickers that said "I'm under the bed"
hehe..
