Omg! Is anyone else upset by the hurricane? The first day I heard about it was in first period Wed and it hit MS pretty bad in some areas so I freaked out and almost cried cuz my whole family lives down there. But they didnt get much damage. It SO sasd though! My Spanish teacher is going to do something with all her classes to help and a girl in my class is going down with her roomates to help out over Labor day weekend. Sadness! *sigh*
How much is gas where you live? So ridiculous!

Gas is about $3.20 here. One of my friends went to Mississippi today for her great uncle's funeral. They packed their car with water cuz they barely get any water down there. It's terrible.

i can say i'm somewhat detached to what is going on in new orleans, that being i just moved into college and a news paper and a news station is hard to come by. gas is off the map 320 now. i remember when i was 10 when gas was 1.00 that's right one freaking dollar per galleon

Yeap, its 3.20 here, saw it at 3.06 this morning and at 3.20 on my way home... so crazy but its here to stay, so I can't be mad about it, just find a closer to home job and start biking to school... how fun

Well Petrol here is measured differently but its still painfully expensive - Its no cheaper than **thinks** $1.28 a litre - And 1 litre = 0.28 galleons - so it would be bout $4.50 Aussie Dollars -- now convert that to US dollars and it equals **drum roll**
4.50 AUD Australia Dollars = 3.44294 USD United States Dollars

Gas in Missouri where I did live was 2.45 the night I left....now here in Michigan a few days later it's 3.19....I left the same night Hurricane Katrina hit, so I guess you could say we skirted the high prices....but putting 30 galleons of gas in a UHaul at 2.45 alone was 75 bucks....so we didn't escape much -.-

Hopefully, Bush going into the reserves will lower prices a bit....but that won't last too much longer....what I hate is that the money we pay for gas goes to OPEC, which are only business partners, they HATE us....and we're just handing them money they can use for weapons and other such plans to use against us. Real nice how the world works, eh? I'm saving up money for a horse and buggy. ^_^

currently $3.50, talking about prices reaching $4.00, and I heard that in some states it was as much as $6.00
We have a new principal this year and he voiced the idea of setting up some sort of exchange with people suffering from hurricane katrina, and play host to 100 or more high school students and their families. I think it'd be a big help to those down in New Orleans, so I hope it works out.

My friend Brandon, who is a firefighter in the Navy, is getting sent to Louisiana to help get things under control. His entire ship, the Harry Truman, is getting shipped over there.

Hey everybody. I live outside of New Orleans in a town called Luling. Our house is fine but there was a little wind damage to houses surrounding my house, but my house was untouched besides my kitchen window screen being on my ground, but that's easy to fix. Gas here is about $2.79.
