I was exactly right on one point so I'm very happy. The book ended perfectly and beautifully.

Definitely loved it. I was crying of happiness periodically throughout the book. Hopefully anyone who's reading this right now finished it, but...(spoiler alert, stop! seriously, stop if you haven't finished)
I LOVE NEVILLE!!! He is such a great kid. I mean, talk about the most perfect development of a character over seven novels. He starts out meek, shy, self-conscious, scared, and ends with harry saying "hey neville, kill the snake, the darkest lord of all time" to which he replies "okay."
Awesome.

I loved Neville too. I thought that he got the sword of Gryffindor at the end was absolutly perfect. And that he was teaching Herbology at Hogwarts 19 years later. Fantastic ending to the series.

Oh I loved it. I loved all of Harry and Ginny's little kids. lol
And I loved how snape ended up being in love with lily the whole time. And I agree with Neville, I thought he was so kick ass all through the book. I was so proud of him.
I absolutely started cracking up when Trelawney was throwing the crystal balls at the death eaters. hahaha
And the twists and stuff was so good. And the end scene between harry and voldemort, was absolutely perfect. I wouldn't have wanted it any other way. haha
I wish Umbridge would have died though. haha Would have given me some closure there.
I was so upset Dobby died. haha And I loved when Kreacher started being good to Harry. LoL I thought it was really touching.
Hmm...What else...lol
I dunno, I just thought it was a great ending to the series.

I think she lied when she said 2 major deaths. I mean a lot of people who died were important to the story in one way or another...Hedwig, Moody, Dobby, Wormtail, Colin Creevy, Lupin, Tonks, Snape, Fred and Voldy...I imagine the major ones were Snape and Voldy in her mind but still they are all major losses as far as characters go.
I loved Neville's grandma too. OMG she was great going out to fight...I wonder if she was wearing that hideous hat.

haha I know! haha Jenn I miss you! I'm going to get my laptop all hooked up tonight and either see you on yahoo or just send you a bunch of offline messages. I think Fred was a major death too. More than the others, because he's been in every book and stuff. *sniff* Poor George... haha And I loved that Petunia had wanted to be a witch too really bad. And I seriously almost cried when Dudley got all sad that Harry wasn't coming with them. I cried when Dobby died. And I freakin loved when Mrs. Weasley called Bellatrix a bitch. Right on. I got kinda confused at first about Malfoy had acquired the Elder Wand and not Snape, but I think I figured that out. I just feel really content about the ending. Nikki said there is some kind of HP convention in dallas next summer. I think her and I will def go. It would be cool if some of ya'll could come up to it! We'd have places for you to stay!

The Petunia thing cracked me up too. She rejected it not because she was against it but because she wasn't a part of it. I totally wanted to hug Dudley in this book. He was sweet and docile and was worried about Harry. Shows that sometimes people actually can change. It's too bad Harry didn't see it until he left...maybe they could have been friends.
Wasn't the Elder wand thing that the Ring that was a horocurx (sp) was cursed and Dumbledore got it from Malfoy...I think that would have killed him eventually but Snape finished him off before it did which is why the wand actually belonged to Malfoy not Snape. It was kind of a cool twist I think. It was something I didn't see coming at all.
The funny thing was this morning in the shower I was thinking of some great Literary Discussion assignments...sniff...I miss teaching at our little virtual school.
Kris I miss you too! I will be online tonight hopefully planning out the novel I want to write. If anyone wants to talk to me I'm on yahoo mysterious_grl25 still. LOL.

WHY DID FRED WEASELY HAVE TO DIE!!! I mean seriously, what the eff? He was my most favorite character ever! EVER! Even more than George! Honestly, those two were my favorites ever since the first book came out. I thought that if anybody out of the books lived, it would be those two, because they served as the comic relief. But no, Fred died. If I were to cry at any moment during the book, it would have been then. And he was even joking as he was dying too. Poor Fred, and the rest of the Weaslys. I mean, it's not bad enough that George lost an ear, he had to lose his twin brother too. Honestly, that was the death that hit me the hardest. Hedwig and Dobby were close seconds though.
I'm also sorry to say this, but I hated the epilogue. It didn't really tell you anything you hadn't already assumed, (Harry and Ginny get married? Ron and Hermione get together? W-what?)and thus, there was absolutely no depth to it. Just a bunch of cutesy stuff about how they named their kids after loved ones (except Hugo...I understand that the H and R names stand for Ron and Hermione...but Hugo was a horrible choice). Personally, I really wanted to know what all the characters were like as adults. What they all did for a living, where they lived, what happened to them during life after Hogwarts. Just a brief synopsis, a snatch of their adult personalities. But none of that was to be found in this epilogue. No, it was just little James laughing at little Albus Severus while little Lilly cried and somewhere off in the distance little Scoripius lurked about with his parents. Lame.
Other than that, I enjoyed the book immensely, especially the last few chapters, when everything picked up. Mrs. Weasly duling Bellatrix...priceless. And Snape being in love with Lilly, knowing her before Hogwarts. And all the students returning to the room of Requirement to help Harry. And Aberforth's character. And the Weasley twins just being hilarious. And Magonagall leading all the enchanted desks charging out to battle...all of it was so great.

North! What the hell happened to you on xanga? Ok...I agree with you (North) on the epilogue thing. It was totally corny and unnecessary. The characters we heard about we could have guessed. It would have been nice to know how George and the other Weasleys were holding up. And about the other teachers, Hagrid, even the Dursleys. Yes, we all knew that Harry/Ginny and Ron/Hermione would grow up, shag, and have 10 million kids. One of the best parts...Snape. He is so totally awesome. And I was crying like crazy when he died and he told Harry to look at him. He wanted to see Lily's eyes. How beautiful is that?! He is just amazing. I feel bad for putting him in multicolored thongs in all our fics. A lot of the plot with the Horocrux was predictable to say the least. I mean Harry being one (though unintentional) and all. And his sacrifice to save everyone, just like Mommy. Though you would think that somewhere in Voldy's reign of terror someone would have died to save someone else...but maybe only Harry & family are that brave. Eh. One other thing that pissed me off was how she glazed over Lupin and Tonks' death. It was like "Oh no, so-and-so is dead...and he's laid next to this huge pile of bodies. And by the way, in that pile is Lupin and Tonks." It was like a side note. I'm sure they went off as heroes. But did they die saving eachother...avenging eachother...tripping down the stairs? She doesn't say. I think it's kind mean since Lupin was such a great character and friend to Harry. Overall it was great. So many things that were mentioned in passing came into great play. Which reminds me...they didn't put Sirius' mirror in this movie. How are they going to work that in movie 7?

HAHA OMG Poli! The multicolored thongs. I totally forgot about that. Aww...
I agree about the epilogue. BUT, I was watching the Today show and Meredith did an interview with JK and she said she was going to publish a Harry Potter encyclopedia that will tell everyone what happened to the other characters after Hogwarts. She said that it will even give some background info on other minor characters that had good stories. Like Dean Thomas and stuff.
lol North, your rant about little Scorpius lurking in a corner, loved that.
And I totally agree about Tonks and Lupin. They should have gotten at least a page dedicated to how they died. Ya know? And I would have liked to find out more about little Teddy. Was he a werewolf or not, dammit!
And they'll probably just leave the whole damn mirror thing out. Stupid ass harry. I'm still pissed he never used that damn mirror.

I don't think he was a warewolf becuase he was on the train for Hogwarts and I don't know that they would knowingly allow a ware to go to school still even 19 years later.

I just finished the book last night and I'm still absorbing everything Wow. I was just blown away. It was amazing. I cried like a baby. I can't even begin to talk about what I loved because right now it's all a jumbled blur in my mind.

They never said really how much Bill was affected by his attach either. Just that he was scarred. Teddy couldn't be a werewolf...she couldn't have been that mean to Remus.
Overall I think the theme of these books is this: "Love makes you do stupid things." And I mean that in a good/bad way. I mean Lily died for Harry...ended up being key part in saving the world. Snape loved Lily and betrayed Voldemort for her. Sirius loved Harry and ended up dying. Dumbledore loved people and died to help them. Harry loved everyone and "died" for them". Ya know what I'm saying?
Ok...maybe the theme is "love makes you die".

haha Love makes you die is much better. You should seriously tell the publishers that. And then on all of the Harry Potter books that are printed from now on, it can say "Love Makes You Die" on the front.

Oh yea. I'm sure that will make sales go up even more. But it is kinda true isn't it? Hmmm.
I want to see a prequel of sorts...'the James and Lily years' or something. What would make it really cool is if it was done from more than one point of view...James, Lily, Sirius, Remus, Snape...even Voldy-Moldy. Yep. I want that!

Manda! The real question is, what happened to YOU on xanga? I was beginning to think that those little fourth graders had bound you up and stuck in you a closet somewhere. I ended up having to delete mine...it turned out to be not as private as I thought. All you had to do was google "NorthCoast" and you could find everything I'd ever written.
Going into the seventh book, I predicted that Harry was one of Voldemorts Horcruxes and that Voldemort would kill Harry but by doing so, both of them would die. Which was kind of accurate, which was cool.
Love makes you die. Sweet.

JK did a live question and answer, its posted on mugglenet and someone asked it Teddy was a werewolf and she said no. She also did some interviews where she talks more about their life after words and stuff...but I totally agree with North and Manda, I hated the epocrap, I seriously wanted to rip it out of my book, completely useless. I would rather that she spent more time wrapping up the end of the book, i wanted some more cloture there before we blasted forward to 19 years later. Hedwig, Dobby and Fred most def the worst deaths for me, i was so shocked when she killed Hedwig i had to take a break from reading for a while to recover.
But overall I really liked the book, and haha kris Trelawney throwing crystal balls was hilarious!!
And oh yeah, I was reading one of the past-book interviews JK did and she said that the character that got a reprive from her original outline was Mr. Weasly and that Tonks and Lupin who she originally planned on living, killed in his place. But I agree she should of talked about that death more.
