This is what I found on Dear Abby:
DEAR ABBY: I am 10. I was born in 1994. My problem is I really, really wish I had lived in the '80s. I know this sounds stupid, but the style was awesome -- not skanky. The music was great -- not rap. The '80s seem awesome! I mean, they had good songs like "She Blinded Me With Science." The '80s seem so cool -- at least people are always saying so.
Help, Abby, please. I'm sitting here listening to '80s music now. I wouldn't admit this to anyone else except my mom or dad. -- BORN IN THE WRONG ERA
DEAR IN THE WRONG ERA: I can't "fix" your problem, but it may comfort you to know that many people feel the way you do about various eras -- and that includes the roaring '20s, the romantic '30s, the fashionable '40s, the revolutionary '60s, the experimental '70s, as well as the "awesome" '80s.
When you're older, you'll be able to satisfy your "itch" to live in the '80s by collecting music, clothing and accessories from that decade. It's not exactly a trip back in time, but it will capture the nostalgia.

It's crazy...there was this kid at school who was a freshman, of course, born in the 90's. We made fun of him because he wasn't alive when The Little Mermaid came out..

Oh man. The 80's was that long ago that it can be made into a project subject? I was giving it another 5 to 10 years! Oh Kim, that makes me so sad to hear that. People who don't remember when The Little Mermaid came out.

I think it came out in 89...I was only alive for 4 years of it, so I only caught the tail-end, but I still know about the majority of it, lol

My youngest sister caught the tail end of the 80's too. She was only a year old when The Little Mermaid came out. She loved it so my mom would put that on in our old VHS. My mom called that movie the baby-sitter.

It's too bad the Little Mermaid sequal sucked. All Dogs Go to Heaven was ok the first 20 times.

Lol...I've never seen any of the Little Mermaid sequels because of the fact I figured they'd suck.
But one of the movies I connect with childhood is Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I had a crush on Raphael, lmao!

Kim, The Little Mermaid came out in 89. I remember that because my gran took me to see it when my mum was having troubles with my baby brother.
You're talking about thinking the 80s were safe from school projects for a few years, my brother's gf did one on the 90s this past school year. I almost cried at all the stuff she had no idea about.
